For any business there a number of different ways of obtaining funding. A few examples include:

2. Selling stocks is an example of equity financing and, for some companies, is a vital aspect of funding. A small portion of ownership in the company is sold off to investors in exchange for capital influx into the company that can be used immediately. There are usually organizations based around shareholder sovereignty: since they own part of the company, shareholders are granted some degree of control over the direction the business proceeds.
3. At all stages outside investors can be important to a company’s financial growth, but particularly early on finding venture capital is critical. Before talking to investors, a business owner should make sure the company has had some time to get its feet wet. Having a basic idea of where the company is likely to head in the future is very important. Use this information to do market research, competitive analysis, and financial analysis. Keep track of everything. Look closely at the market in area to see what’s going on and spot any possible trends the company can ride out. The most basic source of funding for any company is just the sale of goods or services. Streamlining and increasing efficiency and production in that department alone can often help a company realize large enough quantities of funding to not have to worry about other sources.
